That email led me to a blog, and another, and another. Please tell me this happens to YOU to...lol. Sometimes I really enjoy surfing blogs, especially those of very crafty and talented people! This morning I happened upon a super find...just in time for Christmas, but time is short so it will get added to the 2009 'To Do' list.
Getting lost in the blog world really does have its benefits, like this one:

Just this morning, before my journey in blog land, I was gathering up all the ingredients to make some sugar cookies. The one item most necessary was vanilla extract. Wouldn't you know, it was the only item we were out of! Darn. My favorite bottle of Williams Sonoma vanilla was drained up and dry. As luck would have it, there isn't one ANYWHERE close to here. Then I stumbled upon this blog and post on how to make your own vanilla extract....and vanilla sugar, vanilla spiced almonds and info for making homemade lip balm. It is my lucky day! Design mom even linked us up to all the items needed for this project, including labels. So sweet. I love it when someone has a crafty idea and shares all the info along with it, so a HUGE THANK YOU TO DESIGN MOM (and I hope she doesn't mind me using this photo to link to her blog).
I can't wait to make some homemade vanilla extract!!
