Project 365

Yes, I borrowed the photo. It's not actually my kit. You see, like thousands of other disappointed people I too was unable to get this kit. Totally stinks! We were on the road traveling and so I called my Mom to see if she could order it for me, just shortly after it went on sale...it already said 'SOLD OUT'. So, smartie me got on my cell, while traveling through mountains and valleys in Wyoming, and sat on HOLD for about 2 hours! Come to find out, those so called phone lines were un-manned. Bugger. Talk about disappointment. I'd say out of all the kits I've gotten this was by far the one I wanted most! Ok, not the album but the actual kit (I'm not a fan of the album). Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

I think the concept is great! It's not new by any means, people have been scrapping project 365 for a few years in thier own way. What is Project 365 you ask? It is a new style of scrapbooking that is SIMPLIFIED. Instead of scrapbooking each and every big event of the year, you are taking one photo a day and journaling about it. The idea is to get down to the real lives we lead, the everyday things we do: cooking, cleaning, errands, school, work. LIFE. It's that simple. I read somewhere that including your kids on the project is great too. Assign them a day a week to take some photos and let them journal about it. It can really be a family project! I think that I'm going to add having Dan take his camera to work once or twice a month to capture what it is he does.

Even with great disappointment, my project moves forward. Not too sure yet as to the 'how' of all the materials since we live so far from any scrapbook store. So I will need to research that a bit further. Until then, I created a new blog specifically for our project 365. It will be used as my place to house my daily photos and journal until I figure out my strategy. Sorry, its not going to be public as there will be more personal info on it. But every so often I'll share an update on the project.

Last night, Dan asked me if I had taken my photo for the day...LOVE how even he is grasping this new concept!

this is such a great thing that you are doing! i would love to say that i would do this. i wish i could but i think i would honestly have to think to hard ...and that just hurts to much right now.. hahaha! i need to to eventually get into one of these ideas. i need to do better at documenting my life.

Wow. What a fantastic idea! I think I should tackle that. Maybe I could just start with a photo a day that I already have - then maybe I'd get caught up and can start journaling daily life when I'm through with that project...
