project #1 complete

What you see, is seriously what it truly was! This was the MESSIEST, dustiest, grittiest job that I don't ever want to do again. For the first round, which was taking the corner off the granite I was able to follow Dan around with the vacuum and suck everything in. After that, I pretty much gave up. Stuff was flying everywhere! All we could do was put on face masks and deal with it.

While it did protect from all the elements, it was sweaty and hard to breathe. Nice glasses eh? All I could find to protect my eyes from shooting granite was one of the kids 3d glasses from a recent movie!! I'm not all make up and prettied up during home improvements...lol.

Before Kitchen:

After Kitchen:

I LOVE the newer version! It turned out so much better than I had hoped. Such a huge improvement from what it was. Krystina loves doing dishes (even more so). Her favorite part is making the sink all sparkly & shiny!

Alrighty...we've begun the next phase. Fireplace & flooring. Here are some befores:

It's a mighty mess around here. If you know me and love me, you know that I'm pretty clean and organized and messes like this drive me INSANE. Ask my kids. I am handling it pretty well, knowing that there is an end result. Besides, even the concrete floor is a HUGE improvement from the blue carpet!! The kids keep asking if the house will echo after the flooring gets laid, but we are quite enjoying the laughter that flows through the house. Tucker isn't quite sure what to make of all this. He has lost the carpet which has become somewhat of a territory marking spot. Don't ask me why. Once he saw all the carpet rolled up outside he went right over and made peace with it. Stinker.

That's about it for now. Happy Tuesday!!

Wow, the kitchen looks great! I am sure the flooring and fireplace will be just as awesome. I know it is hard to live in a dismantled house, but know it will all be worth it! :)

It looks Great Erin! Why are you doing this if you're talking about moving again? Silly girl.
