Let's talk about this train. Thank heaven, my husband is now an official employee of BNSF! What does this mean? We are so dang happy!! It's been a long 5 months and well worth it.
It also means we will be relocating to Nebraska. Wow...Nebraska. That will take some time to get used to saying. I was so used to telling people we 'wanted' to move to Colorado, but we feel we still got our wish. We will be just a short few hours drive to Denver, which makes this move so exciting! This move is going to take place very quickly, as in just a few short weeks. Dan will be off to Texas then Kansas for training for 3-6 months and the kids and I will be heading up and getting some sort of normalcy back in our lives. You know, I've been trained as a military wife so this will be a piece of cake. It will be much like the life of a military family, only Dan won't be doing time over seas. He will be well grounded and just 5 short minutes to work (once school is done). That in itself is a HUGE blessing! So, the first question will be asked "is he driving trains"? And the answer is No. He will be working in upper management. Although, he will be surrounded by these big beautiful beasts. Big changes are coming our way. The kids are so excited to move where there's a small town feel and they will have an opportunity to live in the snow, who could ask for more? Anyways, if you would like to know more, send me an email or call me and I'd be happy to share more specifics. For now, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for any and all who've kept our family in prayer. We are so appreciative of your support.
I've been to the airport more in the last week than in the last year! My best-est friend Melanie came in from Denver on Saturday...they wouldn't rent her a car so I came to her rescue in Orange County. Dan flew out to Nebraska on Sunday, an adventure he will not forget. And last but not least, Lyndsie flew out yesterday for some Denver Colorado fun. She is having the time of her life now that she's on the ground again! Poor girl, she was very scared to fly alone but she braved it well.
And last but not least...poor Jess, she left Salt Lake City last night around 11pm and drove all night (with a friend). Once in Vegas as the heat of the day was approaching, her poor car over heated! Luckily she had packed several cases of water, which saved the day. Adding to that, they had no air conditioning so it was a pretty sweaty ride. She is home and safe now. Pretty tired, but we are so so happy to have her back with us. Now its time to find her a car with a tad bit more reliability (and functional air conditioning).
That's about it. We have lots of things to do now. Dan and I will be making a trip to Nebraska here in the next 2 weeks to find housing, and get the kids registered for school. As for the house, well, we have 5 offers, and we just put in the paperwork for one so we are on our way for this chapter to be closed. That's it for now.
