birthday suit

Question of the day...."Mom, can I wear my birthday suit on my birthday"? Followed by, "I'm just kidding". Such a kidder! But know that I told him he could wear his birthday suit if he chose to do so...lol.

At the end of this day I can honestly say that I think Kyle had a GREAT 12th Birthday. It started with a movie, just he and Dad...they saw Kung Fu Panda. We planned a very last minute party if you call it that with a few of his best buddies.

Then I took him out and shot some pictures of this grown up boy. He has begged me for months to let him grow out his hair this summer so I have given in and amazed at how much he really has! I kinda like him with longer hair, but if truth be told I'm really a short hair kinda girl-long hair kinda bugs me (on my boy).

Jessica and Kyle are so cute together. He loves her so much! This picture cracks me up...

A nice group of boys, some from karate, church and school. Kyle is really going to miss these boys!

The Chronicles of Narnia cake, Kyle's choice.

I did not see Tucker when I took this photo...so stinkin cute! He's just sitting there laying his head on Kyle's lap trying to be part of the party.

This is a very special gift. I'm kind of not sure I should give details, but I just think I need to be reminded how kind people can be and maybe others will read this and be reminded to be kind (in their own way). Earlier this week my neighbor called (a friend & my visiting teacher) and mentioned that her husband had just purchased this watch for their son but the son didn't really like the style. She went on to say how her husband was going to put it on ebay, but when he heard it was Kyle's 12th Birthday, he wanted him to have it. So of course, I ask her how much and she said that they wanted Dan and I to give it to him for his Birthday...so we wouldn't have to worry about $$. I just sat and cried. I mean, who thinks of this stuff? Kind people really do exist and we will forever be grateful for their kindness. Kyle was so excited when he opened this gift, super excited! How does one thank someone for such a generous gift? I didn't even know what the name brand was or anything-then I checked it out...a very nice, expensive, surfer brand. So so nice. And he LOVES IT!

Happy Birthday Son, we love you so much!

Happy birthday Kyle! Looks like a super fun one with loved ones and friends all around you. What a sweet story Erin. Sometimes it is nice to journal these things simply to remember them later. I am glad you told the story, because there have been times where I have wanted to do things like that, but wondered how it would be accepted. I bet his friends are glad he didn't wear his birthday suit. LOL
love ya,
Christine

What good friends you have Erin. What a generous thing to do. But you're a good person, you'll find new friends that are just as wonderful I'm sure.
