This sweet girl is 17 today.
I can barely believe we have another 'almost' adult in the house!

Dan and I often reminisce about how lucky we are to have this girl. Krystina is a very beautiful blessing, we know was sent from Heaven. When Dan was on his first 6 month deployment overseas, we were in our final last two months of him being gone. I had driven to WA state to settle in and make a home for when Dan got back. Sadly, I received a phone call from Dan's Mom letting me know that his younger brother Michael had been killed. He had just turned 19.
Well, although it was a very difficult time my husband had been gone for almost 5 months! I don't think I need to fill in the rest, except to say that even through tragedy Krystina's life brought peace and comfort in a time that was very painful. I mean if you think about it spiritually, she could have been with him before she came to earth. We don't by any means think she is more 'special' than the other kids, she just mended some very broken hearts.
Now, on to yet another Birthday wish....
Jordan, don't kill me for posting this picture but it's so you! Ok, minus the braces :)

She is so sweet. So, did Dan's brother pass away the same day she was born? Or right before or after?

Dan's brother passed away 9.5 months prior to Krystina's birth. If he had not passed, Dan would not have come home early and Krystina wouldn't be here :)

Awwwwwww! Such a sweet thing to share with us. Love your beautiful Krystina to pieces! Miss seeing all of you! Was just thinking about our camping trip last summer with great fondness.
